What is DSL?

What is DSL? DSL is a type of broadband internet access carried over conventional phone lines. Like dial-up, it requires it's own modem. However, DSL signals cannot be processed by a conventional dial-up modem. DSL delivers speeds comparable to other broadband services, and is available in many areas nationwide.
